Always Ascending

Duran feels something wash over her. Does.. she look less dirty then before? Since when? The mystery however is solved by Oric who just now the dragonborn started to notice how tall she got. "Huh.. yeah.. I'm not use to dealing with getting so little baths either..." She admits after hearing Retiaria. She looks back over where the trap door no longer is then back to the door with a sigh then back to Oric. "I'm glad you are alright, even with the changes. No... weird thoughts right? Nothing that sticks out as bad?" she asks, a bit curiously as she looks at the tall dog girl. Just how tall is she? The dragonborn herself is at six feet, five inches herself. Yet the dog girl is even taller then her.

Oric:

I think for a moment at Durans question "I don't think so... I do feel less annoyed though? I'm not sure if that's related to the change." My tail continues to wag happily as the two seem quite pleased about being cleaned "I can do that three times a day, so let me know if you'd like to be cleaned." Judging by comparison with Duran it seems like I'm a bit over 7 feet tall, causing many people to stare directly at my chest when they're looking straight ahead.

Duran finds it odd to for once be looking up to something and of all people the one who was once the shortest. "Hmm well three times today? Makes sense to switch off between us daily I suppose>" She suggests while still eyeing the dog girl, tilting her head then looking back to the rest, then the dog girl, over and over. Yep.. this height difference is going to take time to get use to.

[Dichotomy]

Hanging back near the blank space where the door used to be I fidget. If I could only get some proper clothing that would be something... ever since these... things... got bigger I've felt like I could pop out of this outfit with a heavy breath.

Wait. I'm smarter than that. I know enough about how this world works to... I rub at the simple dress I've been wearing, the one that came along with the orchard/servant girl look, and focus magic into it, transmuting it into something... well, honestly it's uncomfortable catching looks, no matter how magic works around here, and I suppose I can fix it later if I need to flash some flesh for a somatic component... so I try to alter it into something of a shapeless smock, and also some underwear for... embarrassingly needed support.

"Are we going to push forward?" I ask "Wherever we are? I mean, we're kind of cornered with only one way out of here..."

Oric:

I nod at the comment and move towards the door, checking that everyone's ready before finally pushing it open. I motion for everyone to stay quiet as I do, peaking around the edge to see what's outside before pushing the door open all the way.

[Alice]

The door swings silently open but for a little bell chime. Inside there is a booth with bench seating and a pair of tables with four individual chairs. Otherwise there are what seem to be an assortment of comfortable chairs and low tables with thin soft bound books on them.

There is a long counter down side of the room behind it a large black box with several silvery pipes protruding and steam hanging about it. A woman stands behind the counter young looking but with white hair. Her skin is cream colored and she wears a darker brown dress. There is a scent of vanilla and cinnamon in the air.

"Hello! You can all come in, I've been expecting you!" She gives a little curtsy, "Call me Lattisha."

Duran blinks as Oric opens the door into what looks like to be some sort of kitchen. A waiting room maybe as it had plenty of places to sit but yet a sweet aroma that already wafts to her nose. It was beyond pleasant and already she starts to walk in to get a better look of the room. Looking about curiously until greeted by a.. human? What a surprise, more so the way she is dressed  seems unlike the villagers they encountered before.

Duran give a quick bow when she introduced herself to the group. "I'm Duran... and you were expecting us?" She asks rather curiously. After all, how did she know that Duran, Red, Gwyn, Oric, Lou, and Naethra would show up.

[Alice]

She smiles, "Your battle against the evil gnoll queen was something to see! You were all amazing, and such drama!" She sighs and leans on the counter. "It's good to see excitement."

She stands up, "Anyway, what can I get you? I've also got general goods."

[Roselli]

"uh...bourbon please?" I ask walking into the room curious and confused. But I really shouldn't be at this point.

"Could I see you some beer, it's a special kind" I offer as I remember I need to milk. Or I did before I had fur all over.

Retiaria hefted her trident ready to fight as Oric opened the door. Thankfully, no gnoll force stood ready to ambush them on the other side, just a shopkeep and some delicious, if unfamiliar, smells. She relaxed, lowering her weapon. "Huh, looks like you were right, Naethra."

"Your battle against the evil gnoll queen was something to see! You were all amazing, and such drama! It's good to see excitement."

"Aww, hell yeah! Glad to hear we've got a fan." Retiaria shot Lattisha a friendly grin as she entered the shop, finding a comfortable seat to rest on. "I'm Retiaria, good to meet you."

"Anyway, what can I get you? I've also got general goods."

"Whatever it is that's making that amazing smell, give me two!" she chuckled.

Taking the chest from her satchel, she said to her friends "Hey, this seems like a good time to rest and divide up the loot. We've got some potions and a wand, someone wanna look at those?"
She set them on the table for someone else to inspect, then started dividing up the gems and coinage into what she believed were equal piles.

Thus decided, Retiaria took the pile with the malachite. Adding the money and gem to her cash pouch, she packed the chest with some of her belongings- her spare clothes, a wooden short sword with an inscription carved on the blade and an expensive-looking sequinned glove that looked like it came from a set of ladies' formal wear. Once the chest was packed, she carefully closed the lid and slid it back into her satchel.

"Seems like a calm in the storm" I comment.

"So what exactly is this place? What is it located....here?" I ask our new host. "Doesn't seem like it would get the most traffic"

Duran blinked at that statement. "Wait.. how did you... how did you watch us?" She asks curiously, her red cheeks blushing lightly as wandering thoughts made her consider just how long were they spied on at this point. "And um.. I would like some tea, please." She requests as she found a spot to sit. At the very least they'll can have a breather and get supplies here before moving on. Still, the idea of them being watched somehow... is quite strange.

Oric:

I grab the pile wit ha black stone and a blue stone, not so graciously stuffing it in my bag. "Would you be able to help me get this outfit to fit better? It re-sizes to fit me, but doesn't have a place for my tail... Also, it feels really weird being tall. It's kind of weird moving around. Do you have anything to help with that?"

[Alice]

She smiles, and pours a shot of amber liquid, "Ahh.. I bet it tastes of hazelnuts now!" She giggles as she goes to the machine and starts it up as it shoots steam everywhere.. "That will be five silver from everyone getting refreshments."

She pours the drinks into broad short ceramic cups and passes them around to everyone who requests and pays, "You need a modification for a tail, I can make that happen for you. Another five silver!"

She smiles at the squirrel "This is a place between places in the mistresses tower." She leans on the counter, "We get quite a bit of traffic, fortunately most of it's polite." The cushion under Retairia's rear feels like it's kissing her for a moment, "Most of the traffic."

I hand over the 5 silver "So... do I need to take off my clothes so you can modify them?"
